When I crossed the finish line of the Ironman World Championships in 2013 (my first ever Ironman), I told Ryan I wanted this to be our own unique wedding tradition for the next 5 years. Crossing the finish line tomorrow will be a bit bittersweet as it marks the end of our "5-year-plan."
This past week has been a bit different in terms of race week (full details on race week here), with Ryan getting sick and both of us still being a bit congested, BUT, mind over matter... we are here to compete and challenge our bodies tomorrow and be the best "ME" we can be!
I've prepared my mind, body and spirit in the best ways possible to get me across that finish line tomorrow and into the arms of my husband. Nothing brings me to tears faster or easier than finishing this race in his arms.
- EGO for continuing to support Ryan and me on our crazy anniversary journey through triathlon
- Sammy's Bikes for making sure my bike is ready to race
- Ice Friction for the fastest, smoothest chain out there!
- Alto wheels for the smooth, light, aero, strong wheels
- PowerBar for keeping my body fueled and ready to perform
- Saucony for fast and comfortable shoes
- CEP for providing the best compression to help reduce soreness quickly
- Ryan. For everything. Being my coach. Being my husband. Being my biggest supporter out there. I truly won the lottery when I married you <3
- Jeff and Linda (my parents) for coming out to Kona to cheer us on for our BIG anniversary celebration!
- Friends, family and coworkers... for supporting me, encouraging me, and believing in me.
Ironman is providing the best coverage they ever have this year, so feel free to track via website (ironman.com), app (Ironman tracker), TV (NBC and NBCSN) and live streaming coverage on NBCSports.com (mainly of the pros).
Ryan is bib 2023 and I am bib 2162. He starts at 7:05am Hawaiian time and I start at 7:20am.
I plan on living my recently learned definition of aloha tomorrow: joyfully sharing life.
